Termenul de “emo” vine de la "emotional" care ne poate duce, eventual, cu gandul la acele persoane ceva mai sensibile, afective, si usor de impresionat.“Emo” este, de fapt, starea pe care persoana ce se considera astfel o are datorita unor deceptii peste care nu a putut trece (in cazul unora) sau datorita simplului fapt ca “filmul a fost prea frumos pentru a se termina astfel” sau a unor versuri “ce deprima” (foooaaarte triiiist).
Se evidentiaza si prin felul lui de a se imbraca, purtand tot felul de combinatii ciudate de haine pe care oamenii nu le poarta, in general si poarta o geanta lunga tip postas. ( asta-i tare)
